St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School

Borough Remembrance Commemorations

An exhibition devoted to the work of the Merchant Navy will be open to the public this weekend at St Andrew’s Hall.  Organised by Andrew Marshall, who has collaborated enormously with the work of the History Society at the school, the work on show will feature drawings and poetry composed by year 8 students during History Day at the school back in June.
The exhibition is open both days and the public are invited to attend and examine the work and the many exhibits to a service that is often overlooked and forgotten.

On Remembrance Sunday, the poem to be read out is one that was composed by one of our contributors to the books THE VALOUR STILL SHINES -Sam Waters – Descendant of Jack Kirchin.
