Covid-19 Update 18.03.2020

Dear Parents/Guardians

Following the Prime Minister’s briefing this evening, as well as the statement in the House of Commons by Gavin Williamson, the Secretary of State for Education, we are hoping to seek further clarification regarding the implications for our school tomorrow. We will keep you fully updated once we have received this from our Local Education Authority. Thank you all for your continued support during this unprecedented time.

We understand that many of you will have questions about the weeks ahead, particularly those parents who have children who were due to undertake public examinations this summer; please be assured that we will be doing all we can to keep you fully informed of all developments. To all parents, we will be passing plenty of information out via our ParentMail and the school’s website; please try to find the time to read this information so that you keep up-to-date with what is happening. As I am sure that you can imagine, every member of the school staff will be working very hard to ensure that the next days, weeks and months run as smoothly as possible.

Staff have already given a great deal of time and thought in preparing to set work and in supporting pupil progress remotely. We will write to you in due course with further details as to how this will work in practice.

School will be open as usual until the end of Friday (20th March), however, I am aware and understand that many of you will naturally want to keep your children at home from tomorrow. I will, of course, support any decision you choose to make on this matter.

Let me take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones all the very best over the days and weeks to come. Please do everything you can to keep you and your families safe; I will be continuing to keep you all in my prayers.

Yours sincerely

Matt Barron
