Legacy 110 is a nationwide initiative supported by the Institute of Education to promote studies of World War 1 in schools nationwide – very relevant in these centenary years of the War. Last Thursday the Legacy 110 award was made to five schools at the River Room, Houses of Parliament. The awards ceremony also included six teachers from schools all over the country being awarded the status of Senior Leader in Education. Among those presented with the award was Colm Murphy, Head of History. Colm along with the other 5 teachers has followed a two-year course, which included on hands experience.
The awards were presented by Neil Carmichael, MP for Stroud, Gloucestershire and a noted Historian.
