Denton Memorial Commemoration

The History Society, St John’s School have been asked to take on the mantle of organising the annual Remembrance Service at Denton Memorial to remember the men of the Parish who made the supreme sacrifice during the Great War. The Service, which will be attended by the Mayor of Gravesham Councillor Greta Goatley and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Mrs Rosemary Dymond and students of St John’s, St John’s Junior School and the Grammar School, will be held at 1pm on November 11th at the Memorial, Lower Range Road, Denton.

The highlight of the Service will be the laying of 13 roses at the base of the Memorial, one for each serviceman listed and the laying of the many wreaths.
