Teacher of Science – Full time (Chemistry and/or Physics specialist)(Applications for 4 days per week are also welcomed)

We are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Science teacher to join our high-performing and extremely welcoming Science team. You will work alongside our Head of Department and other experienced Science staff to deliver this vital core subject across a range of abilities and age groups. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (in their specialist area) and there will also be an opportunity to teach aspects of one or more of our Key Stage 5 courses should the successful candidate be interested in doing so (there is no requirement for the successful candidate to have experience of, or an interest in, teaching at Key stage 5, although this would be preferred).
Our Science Department’s results are consistently excellent and have been a major contributing factor to the exceptional whole school outcomes that St John’s has achieved in recent years. At GCSE we deliver both the Double and Triple Science qualifications, and at Key Stage 5 we offer A levels in Biology, Chemistry & Physics as well as Level 3 Vocational qualifications in Applied Science and Medical Science (new from September 2026).

We are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic MFL teacher to join our high-performing and extremely welcoming MFL team. You will work alongside our Head of Department and other experienced MFL staff to deliver this vital core subject across a range of abilities and age groups. The successful candidate will teach across both KS3 & KS4 and there will also potentially be an opportunity to teach aspects of A Level Spanish should the successful candidate be interested in doing so (there is no requirement for the successful candidate to have experience of, or an interest in, teaching A Level).
Our MFL Department’s results are consistently excellent and have been a major contributing factor to the exceptional whole school outcomes that St John’s has achieved in recent years. At GCSE we deliver both French & Spanish (French has been incorporated to our curriculum in the past 2 years), and Spanish is also offered at A Level (French will be offered at A level when our cohorts studying French reach A level age).
