St. John's Extra-Curricular Programme 24-25

 

St. John's is proud to offer our students a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities throughout the academic year.

We would encourage all students to take the opportunity to become involved in one or more of these activities, and embrace the wealth of experiences that can be gained in participating in these school community events.

St John’s YEAR 7 Extra-Curricular Rewards Programme

At St John’s we are committed to giving students access to rich and varied learning experiences. These include opportunities to:-

  • take part in a range of music, art, drama, sports and other activities. 
  • listen to inspirational speakers. 
  • to attend cultural, artistic and sporting events. 
  • to help others through voluntary activities. 

Students gain credits for activities under the headings:

  • Attend a club (from the school timetable)
  • Take part in an assembly
  • Enter a school competition
  • Represent your peers/the school
  • Assist at a school event
  • Learn a musical instrument or voice
  • Complete a UniFrog Activity
  • Exercise your Student Voice
  • Read 3 books and write a blog
  • Represent the school in a particular sport.
  • Attend homework club
  • Attend a school trip
  • Visit an art gallery
  • Visit an exhibition
  • Visit the theatre
  • Partake in a sports event /talk
  • *Regularly attend a dance/theatre group
  • *Join a language club
  • *Visit a museum

 

Health and Wellbeing Extra-Curricular Activities

Faith in Action Extra-Curricular Activities

  • *Walk 5,000 steps a day for two weeks
  • *Attend a sports club regularly outside of school.
  • *Regularly attend a Sports club
  • *Join a book club
  • *Join a debate club
  • *Complete a Hiking or Nature walk
  • Say a prayer or do a reading in a school/ form mass.
  • *Charity fundraising outside of school.
  • *Voluntary work in your community.
  • *Caring for a family member in need.
  • Support Christmas Community events

 

Broader Experiences (Stamps 71 to 75):

Miss Burton will be awarding stamps 71 to 75. To achieve Stamps 71 to 75, you will need to undertake activities that broaden your experiences. When you have reached 50 Stamps, seek out a meeting with Miss Burton. She will set you some personal targets that broaden your experiences – if you complete these targets, you will achieve Stamps 71 to 75.

Termly Challenges (Stamps 76 to 80):

Miss Burton will be awarding stamps 76 to 80. To achieve Stamps 76 to 80, you will need to undertake Termly Challenges. Each term, Miss Burton will publish an Extra-Curricular Challenge of the term on Weduc (our parental communication app). To achieve Stamps 76 to 80, you will need to complete the relevant challenge with either:

*A Vlog – a video recording detailing your experience and what you have learnt from the challenge.

*A Blog – a written account detailing your experience and what you have learnt from the challenge.
A poster – an A4 display detailing your experience and what you have learnt from the challenge.

Rewards:

Reward 1 – 50 Stamps – your stamps will be reviewed by Miss Burton and you will be issued with a reward.
Reward 2 – 80 Stamps -  your stamps will be reviewed by Miss Burton and you will be issued with a reward.
Remember that only Miss Burton can issue you with Stamps 71 to 75 (Broader Experiences) and Stamps 76 to 80 (Termly Challenges).

For all activities with a * students are welcomed to submit their Extra-Curricular achievements to STJRewards@stj.kent.sch.uk . Please note all emails must be sent from a registered parent/carer email address.
