Teacher of Science

(The ability to teach Biology and/or Chemistry to ‘A’ Level is essential)
Required for September 2025

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic member of staff who is looking to join our extremely high-performing and popular school.  Applications are invited from well-qualified and passionate Science specialists for this opportunity to teach in our thriving Catholic community. In particular, the ability to teach Biology and/or Chemistry at A Level is essential. We are looking for a committed and talented member of staff who can demonstrate equal passion for the subject and working with young students.  

Our Science department is a highly effective and conscientious team, and one that is respected by all stakeholders at St John’s. We have designed our curriculum to enable students to undertake either GCSE Double Science or Triple Science at Key Stage 4, whilst also offering traditional science A Levels (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) in our 6th Form, alongside Level 3 BTEC Applied Science.

Full-Time Teacher of English

Salary: Main scale/UPS

Required for either a July or September 2025 start

St John’s is seeking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of English. The successful candidate will be joining our school to be a part of one of our most effective and respected departments, working and collaborating with an exceptionally committed and talented team of practitioners.

Alongside the traditional GCSEs in English Language & Literature, the school offers A Levels in English Literature, English Language & Classical Civilisation. Student engagement across all key stages and qualifications offered by the department is exceptional. These consistently excellent results have been a major contributing factor to the extremely successful whole school outcomes that have been achieved in recent years. The school’s 2024 Progress 8 score of +0.11 was the seventh consecutive examination year where the school achieved a positive score on this key performance measure, and is a wonderful reflection of the talented and dedicated students and staff we have at the school.
