Head of Politics

Required for January 2020

St John’s is a successful co-ed Catholic school with over 1150 pupils including c.250 in the Sixth Form. We have a very strong Catholic ethos and pride ourselves in being a warm and welcoming community. Our 2018 Progress 8 score of +0.02 is the third consecutive year of the school achieving a positive score on this key performance measure and a wonderful reflection of the talented and dedicated students and staff we have in the school.  GCSE results exceed all targets with 60% of students achieving a grade 4+ in both English and Maths in 2018.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, conscientious and talented Head of Politics who is looking to join our extremely successful school.  Politics is a popular subject at Key Stage 5 and the successful candidate must, ideally, have a clear track record of both teaching this subject at A level over a sustained period of time and of facilitating pupils to achieve outstanding results.

It is envisaged that the successful applicant would consistently deliver engaging lessons and be extremely ambitious and highly motivated to support and lead our pupils. If you would like any further information or would like to arrange a tour of the school, please do not hesitate to get in contact with our Operations Manager, Mrs Lynn O’Neill, via the email address below.

Closing date: Midday on Wednesday 18thSeptember.
