Head of Computing/Teacher of Computing

Required for September 2023

Salary - Dependent of the successful candidate’s experiences and the role to be assumed

We are seeking to appoint either a highly qualified and innovative Head of Computing who will inspire our young people and share our values to ensure that every student will succeed and thrive in their chosen field, or, an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational Computing teacher who is looking to join our extremely successful school.

It is envisaged that the successful applicant would consistently deliver engaging lessons and be extremely ambitious and highly motivated to support and lead our pupils. Additionally, the ability to effectively lead and bring the best out of our dedicated team of Computing staff is essential for anyone keen to take on a leadership role across our school, and successful experience of this nature would be highly desirable.

Our Computing department is an extremely effective and dedicated team and one that is respected by all stakeholders at St John’s. Our students actively engage in their lessons and our examination results have been extremely impressive across a number of years, due to the hard work and commitment of both staff and students. As well as KS3 Computing, we teach the following qualifications across KS4 & KS5: -     

  • GCSE Computer Science

  • Digital Information Technology Levels 1 & 2

  • Level 3 Extended Certificate in Information Technology

We would welcome applications from Computing teachers who are looking to lead a department for the first time, current Heads of Computing who are looking for a new challenge, or Computing teachers who are keen to concentrate on becoming the best classroom practitioners they can be.
